The Role

Spicers Peak Lodge is a renowned luxury retreat and Luxury Lodge of Australia, committed to delivering exceptional service and creating unforgettable experiences for our guests. Located in the Scenic Rim, our establishment embodies sophistication, elegance, and world-class hospitality. 

We are seeking a full time Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the team. You will be an integral part of delivering our dining experience to our guests, whether it be for a conference, leisure group or for our unique dining offering.

Perched atop a mountain on 8,000 acres in Queensland high country and just 90 minutes drive from Brisbane CBD, Spicers Peak Lodge offers an exclusive, intimate Australian wilderness lodge experience. The Lodge sits 1,100 meters above sea level with views across to the surrounding peaks.

From untouched rainforest and rugged mountain escarpments to the pristine backdrop of World Heritage Listed national park and ancient volcanic regions, there is no shortage of unspoiled wilderness to experience and admire.

Here’s what you’ll do…

  • Curate an unforgettable and personalised experience for our guests from start to finish;
  • Forge loyal relationships with guests and locals to promote repeated clientele;
  • Maximize and identify opportunities to sell products & experiences that suit the needs of our guests;
  • Management of financial cost measures including beverage and wage costs;
  • Coaching of your restaurant team to uphold service and quality standards.
  • Co-ordination of shifts, conduct briefings, delegate duties.
  • Staff training and rostering.
  • Managing service recovery situations.
  • Deputising for Restaurant Manager in their absence.

This is how you’ll know you’re right for this role…

  • Prior minimum 2 years experience in fine dining/hatted restaurant environment and or Luxury Hotel/Lodge (essential);
  • A genuine love for great food & wine and excellent knowledge of Australian wines and cuisine.
  • Have a strong  knowledge of cocktail and coffee;
  • Have previous experience in restaurant supervision or management role:
  • WSET level 2 or CMS certification (desirable);
  • Experience in leading a team to success;
  • Demonstrated financial acumen in relation to running a profitable restaurant;
  • A talent for customer service with a vibrant and outgoing nature.
