Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Which lodges are appropriate for family travel?
A. Many of the lodges are family friendly and have incredible age-appropriate experiences for families of all ages to enjoy together.

Q. When is the best time to visit Australia?
A. There is no best time to visit Australia. The seasons from north to south and east to west are so distinct that there is always a huge part of the country that is at its optimum any time of the year.
Q. Which lodges offer a wildlife experience?
A. Most of the lodges have at least one wildlife experience or connection. Some of them are pure heaven for wildlife junkies.
Q. What is the Australian outback and how can you experience it?
A. The outback is a broad term meaning almost anywhere in the interior of this island continent. However the outback has a variety of characters – the red centre, the dramatic landscapes of the Flinders Ranges, the quintessential Australian bush around Wolgan Valley, the vast wilderness of The Kimberley.
Q. Which properties offer an Aboriginal or Indigenous cultural experience?
A. You don’t have to go to the outback for an Aboriginal experience. With the oldest living culture in the world, our Aboriginal Experiences are so uniquely Australian every guest should experience at least one of them.
Q. How can I work out distances and time taken to travel between lodges?
A. Australia is the largest island and smallest continent on earth – so very good question! Check out this interactive grid for general planning times and distances. Note these are based on 7 days a week options, there may be shortcuts depending on the time/day you plan to travel.
Q. What do the colours of the kangaroos on the Luxury Lodge map denote?
A. LOL – we are often asked this. The colours are really a guide but not a definitive code. Blue for water based or island, Green for country, mountains or wine regions, Brown for the ‘outback’ or interior. But some of the kangaroos really should be multi-colour…
Q. How can I keep updated on news from the lodges?
A. Easy! Simply sign up to our mailing list and you will receive one communication every 6 weeks or so. We don’t bombard you with daily or even weekly newsletter. Link to subscriber panel in the footer of our homepage.
Alternatively, bookmark this page and refer to it whenever you are interested…
Q. Can you I use images and videos on your website? If so, how do I access them?
A. Yes the images and videos are there for you to use to research, enjoy, promote or share, subject to the terms on these pages: https://luxurylodgesofaustralia.com.au/trade-media/images/ & https://luxurylodgesofaustralia.com.au/trade-media/video-library/
Q. How do I book a Luxury Lodge of Australia
A. Luxury Lodges of Australia is a membership association – but we are not a booking agency. You can link directly to each lodge via this page to enquire about rates and availability, or, contact your trusted travel advisor or destination specialist. We do recommend for more complex itineraries that you use a destination specialist to ensure your entire itinerary is seamless.
