The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge recently took their royal adventures to Uluru and came face to face with this land’s ancient traditions.

As part of their three week Australian tour, the couple flew to Uluru where they followed in Prince Charles and Lady Diana’s 1983 steps, visiting the sandstone rock and meeting aboriginal Anangu landowners.  They were given a private tour of Uluru’s Kuniya walk and, as the sun sank, setting Uluru’s famous red glow alight, the couple stopped to take in the famous vista.

Baillie Lodges is delighted to have hosted their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at Longitude 131° during their visit, who found time to escape for a rare date night under the stars.

“It was an absolute honour to host the Royal couple at Longitude 131° and we’re very glad they were able to experience the spiritual heart of Australia during their tour,” Baillie Lodges Managing Director James Baillie said.

“Uluru is a truly remarkable place with a deep significance to the Anangu people and a special place in the hearts of all Australians,” Mr Baillie said. “It has been a privilege to help share that with the Duke and Duchess and we’re delighted they chose Longitude 131° for their stay.”
