Lizard Island - At a Glance
Queensland Luxury Lodge Accommodation
Lizard Island, Australia’s northern-most island beach resort, is truly secluded from the rest of the world. It is uniquely located right on the Great Barrier Reef, 240 kilometres north of Cairns, and has 24 powdery-white beaches, over 1000 hectares of national park, 40 understated beach luxe suites, the Essentia Day Spa, and the bluest of clear blue ocean views from every angle.
"We recognise the privilege of our location and the opportunities it presents for helping to protect, nurture and conserve the natural values of Lizard Island and the greater surrounding reef".
The beaches are undisturbed but for occasional footprints. Coral reef gardens fringe the island shimmering in brilliant colour beneath clear turquoise water. Giant clams laze on the seabed as nosey Potato Cod keep watch. Here, the marine life is renowned the world over.
Lizard Island seduces with a multitude of reef and water activities. Sensational diving opportunities abound, including the famous Cod Hole or snorkel straight from the beach to experience coral gardens, brightly coloured tropical fish. The nearby Ribbon Reefs are renowned for some of the best big game fishing in the world. These must-do reef activities are delivered by a highly professional and fun team at the resort’s Beach Club.
Lizard Island has a stunning choice of private villas, suites, or the Pavilion. In addition to the reef and water activities, are secluded picnics on private beaches, superb food and wine in the open and expansive main lodge area and indulgent spa treatments to complete the Lizard Island experience.
A stay on Lizard Island in the northern part of the Great Barrier Reef includes luxury accommodation, gourmet meals, unlimited non-alcoholic beverages, selected fine Australian and New Zealand Wines, beer, spirits and Champagne at Salt Water Restaurant and Driftwood Bar and Wine Cellar, picnic hampers, in room mini-bar, use of non-motorised water sports and motorised dinghies. “This is really, seriously, died-and-gone-to-heaven fantastic. The scenery, the beach, the rooms, the food, the heat… Sunset Point Villas have the view, but it’s a clean, cool, Scandinavian-styled Anchor Bay Suite you want.” Australian Gourmet Traveller
