An outback mecca for keen fishermen and nature lovers, the lodge sits perched over a 300 acre-lake. Like a vast outback oasis, this spectacular lake attracts a staggering array of wildlife including sea eagles, pelicans, jabirus, freshwater crocodiles, barramundi and Black Bream to name a few. You can spend your days on the lake or riverside, exploring the bush wilderness or just enjoying the serenity and stillness of the outback in the lodge’s private manicured grounds.

Take an electric boat or kayak to explore the lake - full of fish and wildlife.

Wander along bush trails for a nature walk - birdwatchers will love the profusion of water birds as well as sightings of kangaroos, goannas and maybe a herd of wild brumbies.

An expedition into Chillagoe- one of the most diverse geological areas in the world- to see the extraordinary Mungana Rock Art, limestone caves followed by lunch at the quintessentially Aussie pub, or just relax by the Magna wet edge pool – rich in health giving magnesium salts.

For the keen fisherman, heli-fishing is an optional extra that can be arranged to visit river fishing sites where Barramundi are big but shy, and a thrill to catch.

In the evening enjoy the Theatre Room where the day’s photos may be viewed over a glass of wine, watch a movie or documentary or just relax in the lounge ...

Better still, linger outside watching falling stars under one of the clearest evening skies in the world.


The Lake
The pristine freshwater lake is the magnet to which guests are drawn with its fresh clear water, undulating shoreline, thousands of lily pads, bird life of all types.

The lake is currently being stocked with an additional 10,000 barramundi (to supplement the estimated 2,500 existing). Guests may fish from the flat-bottom electric boat, or explore an array of downstream freshwater pools and stream beds.

The birdlife is spectacular with nesting sea eagles regularly seen near the lodge.
