Weather and Climate

The days are typically warm in North Queensland, usually reaching 25 – 30°C. Overnight temperatures can drop to 13 - 15°C in the winter (June – August), making the lodge’s indoor and outdoor fireplaces a gloriously inviting spot to sit after your adventurous days. April to October tend to bring warm, dry days with spectacular blue skies, while rainfall in the wet season (November to January) fills the boulder-strewn rivers and creek beds.

Comfortable casual wear is recommended for the day, including firm walking shoes and light, loose clothing, particularly for guests participating in activities such as hiking and fishing. During the winter months warm clothes for evenings and early mornings are needed. Relaxed evening wear is also encouraged for dinners at the lodge.

Hat, camera, sunscreen and swimwear are all essential items in order to take advantage of the spectacular landscape and pristine swimming spots.

Mt Mulligan Lodge has a seasonal closure from late January to early March each year.
