Weather and Climate

Lord Howe Island is blessed with a near perfect climate often likened to perpetual spring; warm summers extending into autumn (Nov – Apr) with daytime temperatures ranging from 25-28 degrees. September to May is perfect for swimming in the ocean.

The gentle cool season from May to September offers daytime temperatures 18-22 degrees, perfect for enjoying the many island activities on offer year-round, such as reef walking and bird watching.

A light spray proof jacket, hat and comfortable walking shoes are recommended when packing. A hat, sunscreen and sunglasses are necessary protection against the sun.
