Summer
Summer is the hottest time to be in the Flinders Ranges outback with temperatures reaching up to 40°C during the day. Over the summer months from December to February/March it can get very hot during the days and quite warm in the evenings at Arkaba.
The temperatures and dry landscapes provide a quintessentially Australian outback experience. The red earth of the Flinders is at its most picturesque, and the dust in the air creates the most vibrant sunsets in the world.
