After dark, Kangaroo Island belongs to its wildlife and the stars of the southern skies.
Southern Ocean Lodge guests enter the Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary as native animals begin to stir. Stars, moonlight and the rhythms of the southern night sky provide the backdrop, with your guide drawing connections between the celestial and the creaturely. The lodge guide leads guests through the sanctuary, sharing insight into how the island’s creatures adapt to nighttime, navigating, foraging and hunting under the cover of darkness to provide a better understanding of the island’s wild flora and fauna. The evening concludes with a warming nightcap at the outdoor Bush Bar.
