The southern coastline of Kangaroo Island experienced at its finest. This private half-day journey links two of the island’s most memorable natural locations, Vivonne Bay and Seal Bay, with wild shores, extraordinary wildlife and the Southern Ocean never far from view. This private half-day journey begins at Vivonne Bay, its pristine white sands, turquoise waters and coastal flora framing a stretch of coastline that has been crowned Australia’s best beach.
The experience continues to Seal Bay Conservation Park, where endangered Australian sea lions can be observed resting and moving freely on the beach in their natural habitat. A walk among the colony is intimate and humbling in equal measure. Guests learn about the research and conservation initiatives underway to protect this precious colony, including the new seal pup shelters, funded in part by Southern Ocean Lodge’s partnership with the The Australian Sea Lion Recovery Foundation as part of the Tomorrow Beckons regenerative travel program. The purpose-built sealion pup shelters are designed to protect vulnerable pups from the summer heat, from larger sealions and environmetal threats.
