“I haven’t dived everywhere there is to dive – but since 1990 I have taken guests from all over the world to the magnificent Rowley Shoals and, I have never taken anyone who was not totally blown away by the experience!” – Peter Trembath, General Manager North Star Cruises Australia & PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer.

True North features instantaneous filling facilities for SCUBA cylinders, complimentary snorkelling equipment and experienced divemasters. A marine biologist is normally included in the ship’s compliment when visiting coral environs. Their schedule includes some of the world’s most revered coral habitats including The Rowley Shoals and Ningaloo Reef.

The Rowley Shoals consist of 3 shelf atolls and feature more than 300 square kilometres of undisturbed coral habitat. The diversity and densities of both coral and fish life is breathtaking. The water temperature is a consistently inviting 26 degrees and divers often encounter 40 metre visibility. However, the area’s stand-alone quality is that visitors to ‘the Rowleys’ generally do not see another boat! Even today, the Shoals’ remoteness means that less than 500 people a year are fortunate enough to give testimony to their brilliance. A ‘bucket list’ experience for the most discerning snorkelers and divers.

Dive & snorkel on the West Coast Explorer during March and again in September when True North visits the Rowley Shoals or for a shorter itinerary dedicated to the Rowley Shoals try the Coral Atoll itinerary.
