At Capella Lodge on tiny World Heritage listed Lord Howe Island 600km off Australia’s east coast, water is a precious resource. Rainwater is harvested from the lodge’s roofs and stored in giant rainwater tanks, holding around 380,000 litres and supplying around three-quarters of Capella’s water needs. Guests at Capella taste fresh rainwater every day, and bathe under oversized rain showers – a pure and refreshing experience!
