Southern Ocean Lodge, the flagship property of Baillie Lodges located on Kangaroo Island, reopened in December 2023 after undergoing a complete rebuild. Nearly four years had passed since the luxury lodge was destroyed by bushfires. The new property, designed by the lodge’s original architect, Max Pritchard based in South Australia, closely resembles the original footprint. It features 25 luxurious guest suites that stretch along the coastline, now strategically oriented to offer enhanced views of the ocean and coastal wilderness.
“When we arrived, the gracious and inviting staff treated us like favoured houseguests…in fact, remarkable is exactly the word I’d use to describe our entire stay”.
