The Louise is thrilled to announce an exclusive dining event with one of South Australia’s most celebrated chefs, Duncan Welgemoed.

On Friday September 12th 2025, Duncan – the South African-born owner-chef behind Adelaide’s iconic Africola and Africola Canteen – will take over the kitchen at The Louise’s dedicated event space, Contour, for a one-night-only culinary experience.

Renowned for his bold, African-inspired flavours and inventive approach to vegetables, meats, ferments, and desserts, Duncan will design a shared plates menu that reflects his fearless cooking style, complemented by specially selected Barossa wines.

Diners can expect a flavour-packed feast with highlights including: Gazander oysters with Bloody Mary hot sauce Peri peri chicken hearts Spiced lamb shoulder with devilled mint Smoked pumpkin with tahini cream and boom chakalaka Finished with a decadent Amaro flan Guests will experience Duncan’s signature fire-driven cooking against the elegant backdrop of the Barossa’s rolling vineyards.
