Southern Ocean Lodge on South Australia’s Kangaroo Island has recently launched an artists-in-residence program called Meet the Makers, where renowned artists from Kangaroo Island and broader South Australia will visit the lodge to present their works for guests’ complimentary viewing. Included in the lineup are assemblage artist Janine Mackintosh whose mandalas feature throughout the lodge, photographer Linda Irwin-Oak, silversmith Patti Blucher, multi-media artist Maggie Welz, printmaker Jane Evans, sculptor Dave Clark, multi-media artist Peter Hastwell and landscape artist Jenni Macauley. Each artist will visit for several days at a time until March 2026, providing a lovely opportunity for guests to see and chat about the artists’ work.
