Bamurru Plains safari lodge is located on 300 km2 of private buffalo station, on the edge of Kakadu National Park. As the dry season turns the grasses of the Mary River floodplain a golden brown, the wildlife of the Top End provides a new show for guests at Bamurru Plains. The spectacle of thousands of Magpie Geese, Whistling Ducks, and other waterbirds concentrated around the remaining waters of the floodplain and secluded billabongs if a photographer’s dream. Crocodiles come to the end of their mating season and spend more time on the banks protecting their nests hidden along the bank.
It’s the best time of year for star gazing and you’ll love 4WD safaris out to the far north coast of the Arafura Sea.
