Experienced Australian tourism leader Jodie Mott has taken on the role of General Manager at El Questro Homestead, in Western Australia’s rugged Kimberley, as it re-opens its doors for a new and exciting season, and ventures into its next sustainability and cultural phase.

With close to thirty years in the tourism industry, Jodie’s background includes destination marketing in Queensland and executive leadership roles, notably at Rottnest Island. She brings expertise in remote luxury tourism and relations with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, having managed properties like Berkeley River Lodge and Eco Beach Resort.

Julie expressed her excitement at leading El Questro Homestead, emphasising its significance in showcasing Australia’s wilderness, to enhance the luxury experience and foster deeper cultural connections for guests.

Under Australian ownership since 2021, El Questro has prioritised partnerships with Traditional Owners, culminating in an Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) with the Ngarinyin people. This agreement facilitates sustainable tourism practices and cultural preservation, including initiatives like the Wilinggin Fire Project and a new Cultural Immersion experience called Injiid Marlabu.

As El Questro Homestead continues its journey, Julie Mott’s leadership promises to uphold its status as a premier regional destination while honouring its Indigenous heritage and commitment to sustainability.
