Sal Salis given rare license to offer guests a day swimming with Humpback Whales.

Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef, luxury tented camp located within the pristine world heritage Cape Range National Park near Exmouth, is pleased to announce it is one of just a few operators in Western Australia to be granted a licence allowing the camp to take guests on a private charter to swim with humpback whales.

This exhilarating day-long experience will operate from 1 August to 31 October, 2016. The camp’s brand new boat will comfortably cater for ten guests – the maximum number of swimmers allowed with the humpbacks and whale sharks at any one time – along with an expert guide, delicious lunch, drinks and snorkelling equipment included on board.

Sal Salis already is already the luxe base camp for guests travelling to swim with the whale sharks on Ningaloo Reef. The 2016 season will run from 01 April to 31 July. Together, these two opportunities make Sal Salis the luxe base camp for truly life-changing bucket list experiences

The generously proportioned, tents provide guests with a few of life’s luxuries including quality bedding with organic linens and locally produced, herb-infused, chemical free toiletries. The camp is a digital detox destination, with no Internet, television or mobile phone service, allowing guests to truly switch off and connect with a remarkable pristine environment.

Located within Cape Range National Park, the camp operates under strict guidelines requiring minimal impact on the environment with the camouflaged tents sitting above ground and accessed through a network of boardwalks. A deck at the front of the tents allows guests to enjoy spectacular views of the ocean and feel its cooling sea breeze.

Dining is a communal event at Sal Salis, showcasing the best seasonal, local and native produce accompanied by excellent Western Australian wines and matched only by the stunning views and a wonderfully convivial atmosphere inspired by the shared experience and privilege of staying right on the edge of the reef.

Prices start from $750 per person per night (twin share) and include accommodation, all meals, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, use of snorkel equipment, wetsuits as well as Sal Salis wilderness activities: guided snorkels, kayaking, kayak snorkels and guided walks. Prices for the swim with humpback whales and whale shark experiences start from $500 per person.

Prime times to swim with:

Whale Shark – 01 April to 31 July

Humpback Whales – 01 August to 31 October

Naturally these amazing creatures will appear outside these dates so there is a possibility of swimming with whale sharks and humpback whales at the same time.
