Saffire Freycinet Plans Revealed…

Tasmania’s leading luxury lodge Saffire Freycinet has revealed plans for a new three-bedroom villa. Set separately to the main lodge’s sixteen suites, the new accommodation option is perfect to sleep up to six adults as well as children. The new Saffire Villa is ideally suited to multi-generational families, corporate retreats or small group travellers, and has been designed specifically in response to growing demand for exclusive, more intimate group travel.

Saffire Villa will be set high on the escarpment on the northwestern side of the existing property, offering beautiful views and uninterrupted perspective of Great Oyster Bay and the Hazards mountains. The three-bedroom villa will offer premium features and services, including a private heated pool, outdoor spa bath and fireplace entertainment space where guests can enjoy private al fresco dining.

Inside, guests have their own dining space and finishing kitchen for the exclusive in-suite dining service, two open fireplaces, two Vintec fridges for wine and drinks, and expansive lounge with views overlooking the bay.

Guests staying in the Saffire Villa have full access to the main lodge with the Palate Restaurant, lounge and bar, kitchen garden and Saffire Spa, as well the range of personally-guided exclusive Saffire experiences around the Freycinet Peninsula.

Plans for the Saffire Villa have been created by leading hospitality and tourism designers Atlis Architecture, with furniture, soft furnishing and fittings to be commissioned by Tasmanian suppliers. Works are expected to commence in mid-2025, ahead of a planned Southern Hemisphere springtime opening in 2026.

Guests will be able to book the Saffire Villa on an exclusive use basis only, with rates estimated to start from AU$10,000 per night, all-inclusive.

Greg Farrell, Managing Director of Federal Group (which developed and operates Saffire), said the team is excited to embark on the Saffire Villa project, in response to demand for a more expansive and high-end offering for more than a decade.

“For years, our returning guests who have loved their stay at Saffire have been bringing their friends and family along to experience this special place on the east coast of Tasmania, and they’ve shared that this kind of exclusive luxury villa that also delivers all the benefits of staying at a luxury lodge is the ideal combination,” Mr Farrell said.

“We’ve been delighted to have our loyal and engaged community of guests highly involved in the concept, design and refinement of ongoing plans for the Saffire Villa,” he said.

“We’ll plan to open bookings for the Saffire Villa around six months prior to opening, so there’ll be plenty of time for travellers to plan a very special, private and all-inclusive getaway to Freycinet.”
