Baillie Lodges has announced a series of artists-in-residence visits planned for 2019 as part of its growing, mutually-beneficial relationship with the indigenous community at Ernabella in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands.
The Ernabella artists-in-residence program sees some of the community’s artists come to Longitude 131° for a few days at time, setting up an open studio in the Dune House and painting with views out to Uluru. Guests at Longitude 131° have the rare chance to see the artists creating beautiful artworks and chat to them about the process and their inspiration.
Planned dates* for artists-in-residence visits in 2019 are:
March 25-30
May 19-25
July 22-27
October 6-12.
Located some 250km – or a 30-minute scenic flight – from Longitude 131°, Ernabella supplies its vibrant ceramics, canvases, tiles and spears (kulata) to the lodge which are seen in guest tents, in the Dune House bar and restaurant and Spa Kinara.
