Long revered as Victoria’s regional culinary mecca, and one of the reasons foodies flock to Daylesford is the Two Night Gourmet Escape at Lake House. Here, a passionate hospitality team deliver inspirational contemporary, seasonal food matched with drops from one of Australia’s best wine lists. Under the direction of Culinary Director Alla Wolf-Tasker AM, the kitchen work with outstanding Australian produce including a raft of excellent small scale local suppliers and growers and their own Dairy Flat Farm.
Lake House guests have the opportunity to delve deeper on a guided tour around the productive gardens, orchard, olive grove and vineyard of Dairy Flat Farm. With almost 40 acres, the regenerative growing facility is located within 10 minutes of the flagship restaurant and includes 5 acres of vegetable gardens (where produce is handpicked for morning deliveries) and a bake house specialising in slow fermented sourdough for Lake House guests. For opportunities for learning on the farm, time your stay with one of the cooking, baking or bee keeping classes available throughout the year.
