In perhaps Saffire’s most immersive offering yet, learn the secrets behind the breathtaking natural phenomenon of honey-making by Tasmanian bees.
Saffire now has six beehives on its property for guests to suit up in apiarist suits and be lead by beekeeper and horticulturalist Rob “The Bee Man” Barker to explore the inner workings of honey production. Taste honey straight from the hive, as well as a selection of different honeys from various regions in Tasmania that Rob sells locally as Wild Hive Honey.
Saffire honey features heavily in the restaurant, through pastries, desserts, breakfasts, marinades and salad dressings helping to create an unforgettable culinary experience. As the local bees forage on the onsite fauna, it truly is the true taste of Saffire, unique in flavour to any other honey in the world.
