One of the few things we can do as an operator on the other side of the country, is to support regions that are being challenged by extreme weather events. Our hearts go out to all those who have been affected by heavy rains and flooding on the east coast. Like the rest of Australia, we appreciate the courage and dedication of the emergency services and every day citizens and their efforts to assist our communities and thank them for their incredible efforts.

If you are fortunate to be able to get away from it all, Bamurru Plains has committed to donating $500 to the NSW State Emergency Service for every booking of two nights or more on the Ultimate Wilderness Experience travelling before 31 March 2022. The NSW State Emergency Service is a volunteer rescue organisation that saves countless lives during the floods and continue to provide aid to communities that have been cut off from the outside world.

Bamurru Plains and the Top End is safe to visit and not affected, nor at immediate risk.

The Top End is no stranger to intense weather systems, it’s now the end of the ‘wet’ season or Gudjeuk, an annual event that brings life and sustenance to the floodplains.  Swollen rivers inundate floodplains bringing staggering numbers of birds, fish and flowers and a cinematic ecosystem. For the Top End, the wet season brings life. Black-necked Storks probe through the water feeding on fish. Vast flocks of Plumed Whistling-Ducks fill the sky. White-bellied Sea Eagles are hunting for prey. Now is a great time to witness the natural cycle of environmental rebirth in the northern part of Australia.
