2015 is the beginning of the fourth decade at Lake House, Daylesford.
Since 1984 when Alla and Allan Wolf-Tasker first opened the doors of their country restaurant on lake Daylesford, the focus has been on offering guests a great experience and sense of place in country Australia. The priority has always been on the best possible produce, service and attention to detail. Thirty years later and Lake House which now includes 35 rooms, the famed restaurant, salus spa, cellar and events is still at the top of its game; winning a raft of national and international awards and accolades; most recently from the Luxury Travel Gold List – the industry and luxury traveller’s guide to where to sleep, eat and play:
Best Australian Property (within Driving distance of Capital City) – Luxury Travel Gold List
Best Australian Food and Wine Experience (Property) – Luxury Travel Gold List
These awards join a great line up of current accolades including: The Australian Hot 50, Australia’s Best Regional Hotel, 2 Chefs Hats, Australasia’s Best Spa Experience, Australia’s Wine List of the Year and most recently, inclusion in Australia’s Gourmet Traveller’s Hotel Guide – one of the Top 50 Hotels in Australia.
The Lake House Team have never been known to rest on their laurels and so after a bit of celebration it’s back to work for the 120 strong crew which include a large number of Daylesford locals as well as hospitality professionals from around the world.
2015 will see Lake House reinvest and continue to evolve. Stay tuned for news of the expanding (& already successful) Cooking School at Lake House program, The Waterfront Pavilion and the rebuild of the Lodge….. But in the meantime settle in and indulge in the contemporary, sumptuous surrounds of The new Argyle Library Bar at Lake House. With soft grey studded leather couches, citrus velvet armchairs and unique rotating art exhibitions from some of the region’s famed sculptors, painters and glass blowers; this intimate space is the newest addition to the Lake House offering.
