In a busy and dispersed world, one of life’s real luxuries is time together as a family. The Arkaba Walk Just For Families offers the opportunity to connect with nature together with a multi-day hike through South Australia’s incredible Ikara-Flinders Ranges and the private wildlife conservancy.
 
Scheduled Departure Dates:

Join a minimum three night stay, and together experience Wild Bush Luxury. Children eight years and over are welcome, plus one child (8-16 years) joins free when travelling with two adults. The walk is graded ‘moderate’, so you can stretch out in one of the world’s oldest landscapes, with plenty of rest stops for breathing in, wondering and discovering nature along the way. The Just For Families Walk is for small groups of three to ten people, with shared facilities at walking camps. Learn about Arkaba’s 500-million-year journey and how Arkaba are protecting and allowing natural processes to reassert themselves in this country. Follow the famous Heysen Trail through Black’s Gap, revealing a fascinating insight into the pastoral history of the region, pausing at old shepherds’ camps and mustering yards, with red and grey kangaroos and emus all regular sightings.

The final night is spent in the comfort of Arkaba’s restored 1850s Homestead. As the layout of the original homestead has been retained, each of the five Homestead guest rooms has a character of its own and has been named after early settlers, explorers or property owners. Each has a private bathroom and opens out on a shaded verandah with views of the surrounding ranges.
