The Winter Wilderness Escape, is a partnership between Wild Bush Luxury’s – The Maria Island Walk, Luxury Lodge – Saffire Freycinet, and the stunning waterfront hotel MACq 01 in Hobart. The collaboration offers guests the ultimate opportunity to immerse themselves in Tasmania’s stunning east coast and combines invigorating outdoor activities, luxurious accommodation, and exceptional local cuisine in some of the state’s most iconic locations.

Guests commence their journey with a one-night stay at Hobart’s storytelling hotel, MACq 01, where they can soak in sweeping views of the harbour and kunanyi/Mount Wellington while immersing themselves in the city’s history, culture, and culinary delights.

Following this, guests embark on one of the Great Walks of Australia, a three-day fully guided Winter Escape Walk on Maria Island. Delving into tall ancient forests and exploring world-heritage sites teeming with wildlife. Each evening, they retire to the newly re-designed historic Bernacchi House in Darlington, the only heritage-listed house in a Convict World Heritage area. Here, they enjoy an aperitif by the fireplace, gaze at the starry southern skies, and indulge in a three-course meal showcasing Tasmania’s incredible produce.

The experience culminates with a two-night stay at the award-winning Saffire Freycinet, a Luxury Lodges of Australia property on the edge of Tasmania’s Freycinet National Park, where guests can explore secluded coves along Great Oyster Bay, rejuvenate with spa treatments at Spa Saffire, or simply relax on their private balcony overlooking the Hazards Mountains. Dining at Palate restaurant offers a gastronomic journey with tasting menus featuring fresh produce from the water or the paddock, showcasing Australia’s finest cuisine.
