Getting There
Spicers Peak Lodge is positioned within the Queensland High Country region of South-East Queensland, Australia. Located two hours south-west of Brisbane, the Lodge sits 1,100 metres above sea level, making it Australia’s highest non-alpine lodge. The lodge is easily accessible by private car, allowing two hours from Brisbane Airport or two and a half hours from Gold Coast Airport. To experience the grand scale and beauty of the mountainous ranges, helicopter transfers to and from the lodge are also available.

From Brisbane Airport - Via Gateway Motorway and Logan Motorway
- Exit Brisbane Airport following the signs to the City or Gold Coast. Follow Airport Drive away from the airport, staying in the left hand lane. Take the Gold Coast exit via Gateway Motorway M1.
- Follow the M1 Gateway Motorway for approximately 20km (Toll Road)
- Follow signs to Toowoomba/Ipswich, exiting in the right hand lane onto the M2/Ipswich Motorway
- Continue on M2 for 15km following signs to Ipswich/Toowoomba. (Toll Road)
- Soon after the toll you will merge with the Ipswich Highway and go past Goodna and Redbank. Stay in the left lane to turn onto the Cunningham Highway A15/National Highway, at the ‘To Warwick’ sign.
- Continue on the M2/Ipswich Motorway for 8km, staying in the right hand lane at the fork – follow signs to Warwick along the Cunningham Highway
- After merging right towards Warwick exit, follow the A15 National Highway / Cunningham Highway for approximately 70km
- Your destination is Cunningham’s Gap which is the pass through the mountains. Drive through Aratula township and head up the mountain. ATTENTION: DO NOT take Spicers Gap sign to left.
- When you reach the top, continue for about 6km, pass a service station on your left hand side. Take the next turn left into South Branch Rd.
- Proceed up the hill and through the cattle grid. Continue along this road and turn left onto Gross Rd and then the next right onto Wilkinson’s Rd which is gravelled, windy and steep in places.
From Brisbane Airport – Via Airport Link and Legacy Way Tunnel
- Exit Brisbane Airport following the signs to the city via M7 Airport Link. Stay in the right hand lanes to merge onto the M7 overpass entering the M7 Airport Link (Toll Road)
- Follow the M7 Airport link for approximately 7km. Take the M3/Inner City Bypass (ICB) exit merging left. Once on the ICB exit keep in the right hand land following signs to Ipswich/M3.
- Continue on M3/ICB for 2km, keeping in the right hand land.
- Take the Legacy Way Tunnel exit, merging to the right. Follow the Legacy Way Tunnel for 5km (Toll Road)
- At the end of the Legacy Way Tunnel, this will merge onto the M5/Ipswich Motorway. Continue on the M5 for 11km.
- Merge to the right hand land, following signs to Toowoomba / Ipswich via the Ipswich Motorway
- Continue on the M2/Ipswich Motorway for 7km, staying in the right hand lane at the fork – follow signs to Warwick along the Cunningham Highway
- After merging right towards Warwick exit, follow the A15 National Highway / Cunningham Highway for approximately 70km
- Your destination is Cunningham’s Gap which is the pass through the mountains. Drive through Aratula township and head up the mountain. ATTENTION: DO NOT take Spicers Gap sign to left.

From Gold Coast Airport – Via Gateway Motorway
- Exit the Gold Coast Airport, turning left onto Terminal Drive, go through 1 roundabout and slight left onto the Gold Coast Highway.
- Follow Gold Coast Highway for 3km, slight left onto Stewart Road following signs to ‘Nerang and Brisbane’.
- Turn Right onto the Pacific Motorway M1 ramp to Nerang and Brisbane
- Follow Pacific Motorway/M1 for 62km
- Take exit 31 – Logan Motorway towards Ipswich/Toowoomba, exiting in the left hand lane
- Continue on the Logan Motorway for 30km following signs to Toowoomba/Ipswich (toll road)
- Take the exit on the right to stay on the M2 towards Ipswich/Toowoomba, exiting in the right hand lane
- Continue on the M2/Ipswich Motorway for 7km, staying in the right hand lane at the fork – follow signs to Warwick along the Cunningham Highway

Helicopter - Transfer coordinates: UTM - GPS system 56 438 227 E. 68 90 393 N. OR 28° 06 .46 S 152° 22 .27 E. Helipad certified for daylight operations only. Private helicopter transfers from Brisbane Archerfield Airport and also Gold Coast Coolangatta Airport to the Lodge can be arranged. One way transfers take just 25 minutes and showcase the diverse landscape of Queensland High Country from above. If travelling by private helicopter booked separate to the Lodge, please ensure the pilot calls the Lodge prior to departure so staff can ensure the space is clear and safe for landing.
Private Jet - Located just 45 minutes from the Lodge is Warwick Aerodrome. It has a fully sealed strip capable of taking twin engine executive jets just 10 minutes drive from the Warwick CBD. Private jets can land based on prior arrangements with Warwick Council. For further details, visit.
