Both on its grounds and in the spectacular surrounding region, Spicers Peak Lodge provides many opportunities to pursue leisure in and out of doors. Those inclined to strenuous activity are well catered for and sightseeing is always an attractive option in this spectacular Scenic Rim location. Massages and beauty treatments are very popular as is the lodge’s decadent range of Spa Packages.

Wine tasting - The Granite Belt region is the "Wine Capital" of Queensland. With more than 40 vineyards in the area, there are numerous opportunities for wine tasting. Check the calendar for the Granite Belt Spring Wine Festival and the Australian Small Winemakers Show.

Indulgent massage or beauty treatment - An hour with a fully trained therapist is sure to ease away the tensions of everyday city living. A range of relaxing and indulgent therapies are available including the popular hot stone massage. Advance bookings are essential.

Picnic hampers - Have Chef prepare a gourmet picnic hamper with champagne. The hamper can be delivered to one of many scenic picnic locations around the 8,000 acre grounds. A table can be set in the wilderness so guests can arrive at the location after a bike ride or walk to chilled champagne, stunning views and nothing to unpack.

 

Guests at Spicers Peak Lodge can undertake guided day hikes, mountain bike adventures and walks to learn about the local flora and fauna, Indigenous culture, geological history and the seasonal changes to the landscape.

Bushwalking - Resting on an almost continuous belt of National Park and reserves, guests are instantly rejuvenated after a short bushwalk amid the spectacular rainforest. Dedicated walking trails line the property with surrounds of unique plants, wildlife and a stunning landscape. Enjoy stunning views towards Mount Mitchell, Spicers Peak and Mount Cordeaux. More experienced hikers can try the remote and rugged trails further off the beaten track with professional guides.

Wildlife - Explore the diversity of unique Australian flora and fauna and traverse the foothills and valleys to get up close and personal with some of the region’s very special wildlife, including the rare glossy black cockatoos, bushy tail rock wallabies and the native koala.

Tennis - Racquets and tennis balls are available from reception free of charge. To avoid disappointment, contact reception to reserve the court. A tennis pavilion is provided for those groups who seek catering or simply want to watch the game undercover.

Spicers Private walking tours run by Hidden Peaks Walks adopts a similar approach to create truly luxurious bushwalking experiences. By day, guests carry a small pack and enjoy fascinating narrative from guides passionate about the local terrain and wildlife. At day’s end, Spicers Canopy, a permanent safari style campsite that can also be booked for special occasions, private getaways, family get together and conferences, rewards guests exertions. Sumptuously appointed tents that can be configured with King or Twin beds, a glass of fine wine, and five star bush tucker offer the required refreshment.

Pool sharks - Will find the pool table on the mezzanine level above the main guest lounge.

Infinity edge swimming pool - cool off with a dip in the infinity edge swimming pool or soak in the luxurious outdoor spa. Towels are available from reception.

Star gazing - By night sample fine food and wine, relax by the fire or do some stargazing in the clear mountain skies.

Alternatively, choose a latest release or a classic from the DVD and CD library, or just grab a book for a leisurely read.

Dark Sky Country
Experience the Milky Way under a dark sky free of city light pollution. Located in Queensland's High Country, Spicers Peak Lodge is one of the rare locations that can offer dark sky country. Some say the rising of the Milky Way is more spectacular than any sunrise or sunset and at Spicers Peak Lodge, you can experience all three.
