Stretching for 280 kms along Australia’s west coast Ningaloo Reef is one of the world’s longest fringing coastal reefs. The camp is located in the Cape Range National Park in Western Australia’s North West Cape.

By Air - The nearest commercial airport to Sal Salis is Exmouth's Learmonth Airport. Qantas flies to Exmouth daily from Perth. The team at Sal Salis will collect you from Learmonth Airport, please pre-book these transfers.

By Road - The drive from Exmouth town to Sal Salis takes one hour - and most of this is on a good, council maintained gravel road. The drive from Learmonth Airport to Sal Salis takes 1 hour 30 minutes. Several major hire car companies offer hire cars in Exmouth, check out website www.vroomvroomvroom.com.au for pricing.  The drive from Perth will take as much as 13 hours. Please note, the camp is not sign posted and you will need directions, these will be sent when you make a booking. There is a 'no drive after dark' policy within the Cape Range National Park due to the high numbers of wildlife on the road during this time.

Transfers - Road transfers from Exmouth Airport are available and must be pre-booked. Road transfers cost $250 per person return.

Scenic Flight - It is possible to take a scenic flight from Exmouth airport to reach Sal Salis via Nor West Airworks. The scenic flight takes you over the rugged limestone gorges of the Cape Range National Park to South Mandu Mandu and then over Sal Salis to meander over the spectacular Ningaloo Reef. Land at the historical Yardie Creek Homestead Airstrip where you will be met and transferred to Sal Salis (approx 20 minutes). The scenic flight starts at $600 one way for up to 2 people with no more than 10kg luggage per person in soft sided bags. Nor West Airworks operate a Beechcraft Bonanza (4 or 5 pax) single engine and a Cessna 172 (3 pax).

Nearest Airport: Exmouth Learmonth Airport. It has a large airstrip that will take large & heavy private jets from any point around Australia. It does not have customs or immigrations facilities. 

There are no helicopters based in Exmouth. Required helicopters have to be charted from Perth and can land at Yardie Creek Homestead Airstrip, 20 minutes from camp and outside the National Park.

Scenic flights
A scenic flight with Norwest Air Charter at the start or end of a stay at Sal Salis is a great way to see the coast and the reef and can be done as an airport transfer (at additional cost).
