“Dangling at the edge of the world, Tasmania feels remote. Even more so when you arrive at Saffire Freycinet, set amid the dramatic hills, sandy beaches and turquoise bays of a rugged peninsula. This is the ultimate in Oz luxury: a clutch of window-lined suites gaze out to water, while a spectacular restaurant dishes up abalone and island wines.”

Sunday Times Travel Magazine

Discreetly positioned overlooking the Hazards Mountains, Freycinet Peninsula and the pristine waters of Great Oyster Bay, Saffire blends seamlessly into the breathtaking natural beauty of its surroundings.

Featuring 20 luxurious suites, an exclusive day spa, Palate restaurant, and an elegant guest lounge and bar, Saffire is a celebration of the art of service, complete wellbeing, local culinary delights, ancient landscapes and abundant wildlife.

Many local designers, artisans and suppliers were employed in the construction of the lodge. Designed by award-winning Tasmanian architect Robert Morris Nunn and associates Circa Architecture, the buildings are conceptually organic, reflecting the surrounding environment. Features such as double glazing and natural cycle airflow systems and LED lighting minimised the lodge’s environmental impact from the outset.

The furnishings feature an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary, with locally made timber pieces alongside mid-century classics such as chairs designed by Charles and Ray Eames and Herman Miller.

All Saffire Freycinet's 20 suites are luxuriously appointed, featuring the best in design and furnishings and capturing the unique nature of the surrounding coastline.

The suites provide guests with the utmost privacy while taking in the magnificent views of the Hazards Mountains, crystal-clear blue waters and white sandy beaches. They are designed to allow guests to relax and rejuvenate while providing a deep connection with the environment to heal and restore balance.

All suites are beautifully appointed, with generous living spaces and feature Tasmanian timbers and Australian designer touches throughout. The Signature Suites and Private Pavilions both feature decks for outdoor reflection while the Private Pavilions feature a separate bedroom and dining area as well as a plunge pool taking centre stage in the extended private courtyard.

Saffire Freycinet is one of Australia’s most spellbinding natural wonders – luxury accommodation where you can truly relax, restore your wellbeing, indulge and be inspired.
