Bamurru Plains

Dining

Dining at Bamurru Plains is designed to fit around the daily schedule of safari activities and the atmosphere of a camp setting. Locally inspired cuisine is enjoyed in the main lodge or in the great outdoors amongst the sights and sounds of the Australian bush.

A selection of premium Australian wines is available at all times. The ‘down to earth’ style of the camp means that guests can help themselves to drinks from the open bar at any time of day.

A pre-dawn start calls for a hearty breakfast before heading out with the guides for an airboat trip on the floodplains to make the most of the morning light and the best time of day to be viewing wildlife.

Lunch is a casual meal in camp, usually served by the pool. A blend of local produce and native herbs is a trademark of the contemporary Australian bush cuisine at Bamurru Plains. Enjoy Australian game bbq accompanied by fresh, seasonal salads and home-made damper or Top End barramundi fillet dusted in lemon myrtle, served with house cut chips and lime beurre blanc.

Sundowner drinks are regularly taken at a break in the afternoon wildlife drive on the floodplain or by one of the billabongs on the property before heading back into camp for canapés on the pool deck and then joining other camp guests in the lodge building for a three course hosted dinner around the camp table. The mud crab ravioli is a seasonal special and service at dinner is varied between served and banquet style.
