Bamurru Plains is a Luxury Lodge of Australia, a safari style camp set amongst the savannah bush fringing the Mary River floodplains in the Top End. Offering guided experiences and  down to earth yet attentive level of service, our team of hosts and guides are passionate about sharing the environment and wildlife with our guests .

Bamurru Plains is a 13-room luxury safari camp located next to Kakadu National Park in the Top End of the Northern Territory. Set amongst 300km² of coastal floodplain and tropical savannah, the property has set a new benchmark for nature tourism in Australia bringing a level of luxury to the Australian bush. Bamurru is a member of Luxury Lodges of Australia and delivers an understated level of luxury in a remote and beautiful bush location.

The camp itself is 3 hours’ drive from Darwin, located in a spectacular spot on the edge of the Mary River floodplains, with a profusion of birdlife and wildlife on its doorstep.

The focus of a stay at Bamurru Plains is in the exclusive and immersive bush experiences that are offered by field guides, while back in camp Bamurru’s style of ‘Wild Bush Luxury’ underpins the wilderness experience with a supremely comfortable camp and excellent cuisine.

About you
You are an experienced and passionate Field Guide who ideally has experience in the Top End , You are guest focussed , with great people management. You are very hands on and have great attention to detail providing an enhanced customer experience. You are a great storyteller with a love for the outdoors and conducting activities including airboat, riverboat and 4WD and foot safari experiences. Having a coxswains licence and Kakadu accreditation will be highly regarded.  

About the role
The role of Head Guide is to inspire and educate guests, connecting them to landscapes through authentic guided experiences and exceptional hospitality . You will inspire the guests with the  deep interpretation about the landscape, natural and cultural heritage of the Top End so that they come away with a greater connection with our natural environment. 

2024 Season – Mid February till end of October 2024. 

Your responsibilities will include:
• Facilitating the natural history of the area through knowledge and passionate delivery to guests, during guided activities 
• Leading and mentoring a team of Guides to deliver exceptional  guided experiences, maintaining exceptional standards of guiding and  customer service. 
• Develop and adapt   meaningful and authentic guided activities to meet the needs  and interests of our guests.  
• Ensure that safety procedures are adhered to in all guided activities
• Ensuring that vehicles and equipment are maintained and well presented for operation
• Ensuring that guests come away with a greater appreciate of Australian natural environment
• People management and training
• Managing all aspects of the guide activity operation
