Lodge Manager - Bamurru Plains - Top End of the Northern Territory
The Lodge Manager at Bamurru Plains has a mission to ‘blow guests away’ with a mind and eye opening experience of the Top End. This comes first and foremost through the team of field guides whose knowledge and passion is what sets Bamurru apart from other lodges – it is the Lodge Manager’s role to inspire and motivate them in this. It also comes from the lodge support side where guests are hosted in a wilderness lodge facility that is very in tune with its surrounding environment – supremely comfortable but in a very natural sense – and operated on strong environmental principles.
Key responsibilities in the position are:
- Ensuring the safety of staff and guests;
- Immersing guests in the stories of the bush with a team of passionate and knowledge field guides
- Delivering a distinctly ‘Wild Bush Luxury’ style of hospitality – one that is utterly professional in its attention to detail but also very down to earth in a style that is distinctly Australian and in tune with the environment we operate in;
- Minimising operating costs through tight management of equipment, food, beverages and staffing resources.
Given Bamurru’s strong focus on guided experiences, it is preferable that the Lodge Manager has some guiding background, supported by experience in the more traditional lodge hospitality roles that ensure the professional and efficient operation of the accommodation side and food and beverages.
Bamurru’s small size (10 rooms) requires a manager who is prepared to be hands on and its remoteness confers a high level of autonomy from head office in Sydney. Its remote location (Darwin is 3 hours drive away) also requires an individual (or couple) who enjoys living in the bush.
