About you

You will have previous experience in tour guide operations or hospitality and isn’t afraid to get your hands dirty on the daily. If you have experience in safari or luxury lodges, this is a huge plus. As this position is located in one of the most remote, but beautiful parts in Australia, acquiring trades and services can take time. You will have skills in construction and mechanics to provide simple and safe repairs. In addition, you will have a truck licence, and a coxswain qualification is desirable. You will love being surrounded by nature and bushland with the same people for company- a good sense of humour is a prerequisite to fit in with our team!

About the role

As the General Manager you will manage all day-to-day aspects of the lodge. From managing field guides and lodge teams to engaging with the support teams based in Sydney. This position will see you build strong relationships with our local and remote communities. You and your team will deliver a truly exceptional experience to all that share our grounds, in particular our high-end guests. Bamurru Plains features 10 safari style bungalows and caters up to 20 people at a time. You will coordinate airboat safari tours, sundowners in the bush and caring for the natural surrounds. You will also be required to coordinate the logistics that come with being a remote operation and being based on a private property nearby Kakadu National Park you will need to familiarise yourself with the local agreements and lease terms that are in place and become an ambassador of best practices.
