Deck Officer / Guide Job - TRUE NORTH
- Carry out any task as directed by
- Master/Chief officer in respect to vessel operations
- Ensure the safety and welfare of passengers and other crew at all times
- Responsible for safe and lawful navigation whenever on watch
- Responsible for maintaining a navigational log when on watch
- Participate in musters and drills as part of vessel emergency response team on a regular basis
- Maintenance of fishing, diving and other guest recreational equipment
- Assist in galley operations where required
- Maintain crew and guest relations
- Maintain ship and tenders’ cleanliness
- Participate in loading/unloading of passengers and cargoes from helicopter
- Assist in refuelling procedures of tenders and helicopter
- Participate in crane operations
- Assist passengers in embarking/disembarking from any vessel
- Guide guests on water and land based excursions and activities
- Assist as directed by Chief Officer, Master or Cruise Director
- Provide assistance where necessary for the safe landing of helicopters in the role of the “Landing officer”
- Maintain security watches & gangway entry control
- Ensure muster station check list is present and requirements are available on the vessel
- Ensure presence and serviceability of life rafts, life jackets and life rings
- Complete vessel safety inspections on a regular basis
- Adhere at all times to company operational standards i.e. JHA’s
Qualifications Required: ~ Certificate of Competency – Master Class 5 (Mate Class 4 or above Desirable) ~ STCW 95 Certificate of Safety Training ~ AMSA Medical ~ Maritime Identification Security Card (MISC) ~ Australian Drivers Licence ~ Kimberley Guiding Experience Desirable ~ Radio Operators Certificate ~ Senior First Aid ~ Valid Passport ~ Passenger Ship Safety – Crowd Management Training
