The Pioneer Bay walk begins with a short boat ride from the lodge, where you might spot turtles surfacing in the shallow waters.

Once ashore, a guide will lead you on a journey through Orpheus Island’s diverse landscapes. Starting at the beach, the trail winds through a patch of dense rainforest before opening into an Acacia forest. Along the way, you’ll pass the ruins of an old stone shepherd’s hut, a glimpse into the island’s rich history.

The trail reaches its peak in native grasslands at the top of the island, where sweeping views of the reef-dotted ocean await.
