The Role

The role and key duties

  • Curate an unforgettable and bespoke experience for our guests from start to finish;
  • Deliver onsite a range of treatments including body treatments, facials, massages & hair treatments to our guests in our well-appointed luxury treatment rooms;
  • Provide a high level of personalised guest service & offer a relaxing experience;
  • Provide recommendations and upsell retail products to guests;
  • Keep the spa operations running smoothly & clean all areas of the spa after use.

Essential Criteria required to be considered

  • Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy or higher (essential);
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience as a massage therapist (essential) 
  • Strong knowledge of wellbeing, skin and wellness products with ability to guide and educate our guests;
  • A warm, professional, and guest-focused approach;
  • Ability and willingness to commence work on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays;
  • Reliable transport to get to and from the retreat;
  • Be located close to our retreat or be willing to relocate.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Guest Services Manager to lead our accommodation and spa operations, ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless, personalised, and memorable stay.

As the Guest Services Manager, you will oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, and Spa operations, ensuring excellence across all guest touchpoints. You’ll be a key member of the property leadership team, acting as second-in-command to the General Manager and leading the lodge in their absence.

  • Lead and empower teams across Front Office, Housekeeping, and Spa to exceed guest expectations.
  • Drive a culture of genuine hospitality, accountability, and excellence.
  • Onboard and train new team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones and performance reviews to support growth and development.
  • Manage rosters and approve timesheets across departments.
  • Act as Manager on Duty when required.
  • Build strong relationships with guests, tailoring experiences to their preferences.
  • Manage stock ordering and inventory control.
  • Achieve room turnaround targets and maximise productivity.
  • Ensure all operations align with Spicers Retreats and Salter Brothers Hospitality standards.
  • Champion workplace safety and respond to incidents with care and compliance.

Essential criteria required to be considered; 

  • 3–5 years’ leadership experience in luxury hospitality, with hands-on exposure to Front Office, Housekeeping, and Spa.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong business acumen including reservations systems, yield management, and reporting.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of fine dining service standards and event operations.
  • Highly organised with a keen eye for detail and time management.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a guest-first mindset.

What you can expect from a day in this role:

As Spa Supervisor, you will work closely with the Spa Manager to support the daily operations of our luxurious spa. In this hands-on role, you'll help lead a team of skilled therapists, ensuring exceptional service standards and a seamless guest experience. Your responsibilities will include coordinating schedules, maintaining treatment quality, overseeing spa presentation and cleanliness, and delivering a range of treatments.

 

What you will bring to the role:

  • A Diploma in Beauty Therapy coupled with proven experience in a luxury spa, lodge, or similar setting
  • Ideally, you’ll also bring experience in a senior therapist or supervisory role to support your leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to support and motivate a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high standards in both guest service and spa operations
  • Confident in managing day-to-day responsibilities while escalating key issues to the Spa Manager
  • Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Driver’s licence and vehicle (preferred), or reliable transport to the property

What you can expect from a day in this role:

In this role you will support the Food & Beverage Manager and will work with the team to ensure that each guest receives individually tailored professional service. You will manage food & beverage operations, liaise with key stakeholders and assist with staff training and development.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for: 

  • Assisting the Food & Beverage Manager in day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar
  • Working closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to create wine matching for meals
  • Maintaining a constant focus on providing excellent guest experience at all times
  • Lead, mentor and train the food & beverage team, ensuring a positive working environment
  • Supporting the recruiting and onboarding of new team members
  • Handling ordering and overseeing inventory management

 

 

What you will bring to the role:

  • Previous experience in a Luxury Lodge environment or similar,
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory or management experience
  • Strong focus on staff training and development
  • Excellent food and wine knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal and people skills
  • Flexibility and reliability to work across a variety of shifts,
  • A desire to learn, develop and continuously improve, and
  • Vehicle and drivers' licence (preferred), or other modes of accessibility to the property.
