Dive into a new and thought-provoking encounter at the Museum of Underwater Art (MOUA) and discover the beauty and resilience of the reef through art.
The Coral Greenhouse is a groundbreaking underwater museum located at John Brewer Reef. Created by renowed artist Jason deCaires Taylor, it holds the world record for largest underwater art structure, and provides a unique and immersive perspective on the Great Barrier Reef. By blending marine science, coral gardening, art, and architecture, the Coral Greenhouse invites visitors to explore and appreciate the reef’s vibrant ecology in a truly transformative way.
The Ocean Sentinels is a captivating series of underwater sculptures at a depth of 5 meters and just a short swim from the Coral Greenhouse. Standing 2.2 meters tall and weighing between 1 to 3 tons each, the sculptures are a unique blend of human figures and marine elements, symbolising the fusion of art and science.
A full day MOUA charter allows guests to dive or snorkel these remarkable underwater installations, with the option to add a second snorkel or dive at MOUA or instead on the nearby reef.
