Orpheus and Pelorus are destinations for food lovers. Each day brings a showcase of the region’s edible bounty – think sustainably caught seafood, tropical fruits and vegetables – in daily changing menus created by the islands’ talented team of chefs.

The dining ethos at Orpheus starts locally with the best carefully sourced and selected sustainable produce front and centre.

Orpheus Island Lodge’s vegetable patch supplies the chefs with a constant harvest of fresh, seasonal produce, while resident chickens produce fresh free-range eggs enjoyed by guests daily. An array of seafood including fresh local prawns, coral trout and painted rock lobster are amongst the regional delicacies and are sourced locally.

At Orpheus, a la carte breakfast is served in the main pavilion, followed by a tapas-style lunch. Dinner is timed perfectly to enjoy the golden sunset hour as the light disappears over the Coral Sea.

By night, an award-winning cellar list and a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accompany each course. Carefully considered to bring together the island’s cuisine, climate, and natural surroundings, the list is a celebration of some of Australia’s finest wines.

On Pelorus Private Island, guests are invited to savour the unscripted. The resident chef and host takes guests on a culinary adventure that has been designed especially for them.

On arrival guests meet with the Executive Chef to ensure personal preferences and tastes are catered for throughout their stay. Each day the talented team of chefs prepare dishes inspired by the natural surroundings and use the freshest most sustainably sourced produce they can access.

At Pelorus, the resident private chef anticipates appetites and desires with every meal perfectly timed to the day’s itinerary.

Awaken to the aroma of barista-made coffee, enjoyed with fresh-pressed juice brimming with local tropical fruits. Move into a selection of mid-morning artisan teas before the afternoon beckons a signature icy cocktail or cold beer.
