Luxury Lodges of Australia Members Star in Condè Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards across the Globe
Several members of the Luxury Lodges of Australia (LLoA) collection have starred in the globally revered Condè Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2024.
Taking top billing is Southern Ocean Lodge, which has claimed first place in Australia, second in the South Pacific, and 29th in the world in this year’s United States’ Condè Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. This extraordinary luxury lodge set on the clifftops of Kangaroo Island has reclaimed her position on the prestigious list, having previously held the honour in 2019 prior to the bushfires which swept across Kangaroo Island in early 2020, razing the lodge and occasioning her four-year rebuild.
Across the globe, Southern Ocean Lodge has also featured on the UK’s Condè Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards World’s Best Resorts list, ranking sixth in the Australasia and the South Pacific category with a score of 92.61 out of a possible 100.
The prestigious accolades were also enjoyed by several LLoA members, across the United States’ (US’s) and Unted Kingdom’s (UK’s) Readers’ Choice Lists. A roundup of the various awards follows.

Luxury Lodges of Australia Executive Chair Penny Rafferty said the accolades received in Condè Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2024 in the US and the UK were a reflection on the special brand of experiential luxury and personal connection to place offered at each of the LLoA properties.
