To celebrate Spicers Peak Lodge’s 20th anniversary renowned artist Ros Handy will be returning to her creative roots with an exclusive residency from the 5th to the 12th of October 2024. Set within the luxurious confines of the lodge, guests will have the rare opportunity to observe Ros in action as she brings her artistic vision to life, setting up her easel in the lodge’s lobby.

Ros Handy, once a prominent Brisbane watercolourist in the 1990s, is known for her award-winning exhibitions and teaching. After a successful career in building design and project management, where she played an integral role in shaping Spicers Retreats alongside her sister and Spicers’ founder, Jude Turner, Ros has returned to her first love—watercolour. During her residency, guests can indulge in the serene ambiance of Spicers Peak Lodge or enjoy a sumptuous meal at The Peak restaurant while watching Ros create new masterpieces.

Ros’ journey with Spicers began with the development of Spicers Peak Lodge, where her vision was key in shaping its distinctive aesthetic. Now, after years of creative evolution, Ros has returned to painting, embracing mixed media to deepen her love for watercolour. This residency offers an inspiring intersection of art, luxury, and nature, celebrating both Spicers Peak Lodge’s storied past and its creative future.
