Mt Mulligan Lodge offers a luxurious retreat for guests staying five or more nights, complete with complimentary return scheduled helicopter transfers.
Nestled in North Queensland’s untamed outback, the lodge combines modern, laid-back luxury with the rugged beauty of the surrounding environment. The expansive lodge harmonises with its surroundings, including the impressive 18-kilometer-long sandstone escarpment of Mount Mulligan, the vast outback sky, and the extensive eucalyptus woodlands stretching to the horizon.
Situated in the shadow of Mount Mulligan, also known as Ngarrabullgan to the local Djungan people, the lodge is surrounded by a working cattle station. The lodge’s philosophy emphasises a light footprint on the landscape, allowing nature and history to reveal themselves. The 28,000-hectare property offers a serene, secluded experience, with the main pavilion reflecting a luxurious take on pastoral living. This pavilion features a shimmering roof, high ceilings, recycled timber beams, and lavish camp-style chairs, providing a perfect setting to enjoy exceptional locally sourced, caught, and foraged seasonal dishes accented with native and bush foods, complemented by boutique Australian wines.
Accommodation is provided in four pavilions, each designed to house a maximum of 20 guests. The bespoke features of the lodge complement the natural landscape, with chestnut-toned timber and earthy hues in the inviting sleeping areas, lustrous stone bathrooms, and generous verandas with deep rustic bathtubs. Each private suite offers captivating views of the sparkling weir and the imposing ridges of Mount Mulligan, a site of significant Indigenous heritage dating back 37,000 years.
