Included in the itinerary is a fascinating day exploring the ancient history of the new Nilpena Ediacara National Park placed on the World Heritage list in April 2021. It’s the single most important site on the planet for the discovery of Ediacaran fossils, representing the rise of first animal life on the planet. Over 40 species have been recorded in the sediments of its ancient seafloors.
