The Spicers Retreats Green Hornets are a passionate group of Spicerians dedicated to making this Australia’s most sustainable organisation through creating change and inspiring others. From sourcing more environmentally sustainable products to more efficient ways to recycle waste, Spicers Retreats is constantly looking for new solutions to achieve common goals of:
- Zero net emissions by 2030
- Zero net waste by 2030
- Reduce water usage by 50% by 2025

- “Limit your showers, especially in hot climates. Water is a precious commodity.” – Blake.
- “Hang your towel up and reuse it. You’ll reduce water usage and extend the life of your towel.” – Sue.
- “Buy from local artisans and markets rather than big chain stores. Buying direct supports local families.” – Paul.
- “Don’t over-order at restaurants – or take more than you can eat from the buffet. Food wastage is a global issue.” – Annabelle.
- “Always take a reusable water bottle with you to save adding to the great plastic problem.” – Kristin.
- “Hire an e-bike instead of using a car” – Katie.
