Reflexions on Fire Exhibition  (January 3-19)

Linda and Indy at Boomerbank will host the exhibition at their studios by opening on the first anniversary of the worst day of the Kangaroo Island blaze.

Sculptor and host Indiana James: “As visual artists, Linda and I both felt strongly the need to create a way for artists affected by the Australian fires of January 2020 to express themselves emotionally through their work, to react to this tragedy in the way they know best, wordlessly in pictures or objects.”

Artist Gabrielle Jones, who with and her partner Shawn worked at Southern Ocean Lodge when the Kangaroo Island fire destroyed the building: “Through flame and ash, beauty can be found within, for those whose hope can see it. My pieces are remnants of ordinary machines, turned by nature’s design into living art.”

Reflections on Fire will run from January 3-19 from 10am to 5pm at the Boomerbank gallery, 3196 Hog Bay Road. Admission is free
