In a toast to one of Australia’s most acclaimed wine brands, Lizard Island has partnered with Penfolds to celebrate The Penfolds Collection 2019, including Penfolds 2015 Grange. The first-ever winemakers weekend will feature tastings, sunset Champagne drinks, winemaker-hosted degustation dinners and wine masterclasses. The occasion coincides with Penfolds 175 year anniversary of winemaking, and the 65th release of its world-renowned flagship wine, Penfolds Grange.

Hosted by Penfolds winemaker Andrew Hales, the Lizard Island long weekend will take place over three days, Friday November 15 – Sunday November 17, 2019. Lizard Island’s Executive Chef, Ryan Squires, will create custom menus for the occasion, to be enjoyed with paired wines from the newly-released The Penfolds Collection 2019.

Guests will have a chance to sample limited edition Champagne Thiénot x Penfolds Chardonnay Pinot Noir Cuvée – which launched globally in June 2019 – as the sun sets over the Great Barrier Reef. The critically acclaimed Penfolds 2015 Grange will be showcased at a private barefoot dinner hosted by Penfolds Andrew Hales and Lizard Island Executive Director Greg Magi, with a menu curated to complement the iconic wine, served on long tables on the beach.
