This is a perfect cooking experience at Cape Lodge for anyone keen to develop their understanding of the delicious world of spices and how they can be best used in recipes.

Sarina Kamini is an accomplished Australian-Kashmiri author, food journalist, SBS columnist and ABC radio regular, who after 20 years of living and working in some of the world’s great food capitals now calls Margaret River home. Spice runs in her veins, as does her passion for teaching curious foodies the secret language of aromatics. 

Classic Spice | 3 hours | $200 per person | 2 person minimum
An in-depth tour of spice for those with an existing love of cooking and understanding of flavour. If your spice cupboard is stocked but you are unsure how to bring it all together, this class will provide the answers and offer the path to truly delicious results. 

Beginner’s Spice | 3 hours | $200 per person | 2 person minimum
If you have never cooked with spice before and don’t know where to begin, this course is the ideal starting point. The class will guide you through the basic spice groupings of hot, earth, warm, acid, salt and sweet, and provide some easy recipes to get you started.

Vegan Spice | 3 hours | $200 per person | 2 person minimum
Learn the art of oil and spice matching in a vegan class that emphases the range of oils and fresh ingredients possible to create a plant and spice-based feast.

Pressure Cooker Workshop | 3 hours | $200 per person | 2 person minimum
Making daal in five minutes and rogan josh in ten is as easy as learning how to handle Grandma’s old favourite cooking tool – the pressure cooker. In this class Sarina will help you understand pressure cooker usage without fear!

All Art of Spice classes with Sarina Kamini include:
