Lizard Island has announced it will host an expedition featuring scientists from the Australian Museum, offering guests the chance to explore parts of the Great Barrier Reef not usually accessible by guests.
The expedition will take place later this year and will educate and inform guests about the world heritage listed site, in one of the best locations in the world – Lizard Island. The expedition has been created by the island, the Lizard Island Research Station and the Australian Museum and gives guests the opportunity to learn about environmental challenges the reef faces, alongside unprecedented access to parts of the reef. Guests taking part will come away armed with knowledge of the Great Barrier Reef, including how this natural beauty continues to regenerate and flourish. In addition, they will be able to experience the native Australian wildlife on the island, showcasing the breadth of species that exist in the environment both in and out of the water.
