Spicers Retreats is delighted to announced the appointment of Subash Basrur as the General Manager of Spicers Peak Lodge.

Subash has a wealth of experience in the luxury hotel industry, having managed resorts and hotels in China, Japan and India. Starting his hospitality career in the kitchen as a chef, Subash worked in several top hotels and restaurants before striking out with business partners to open a restaurant in Toorak Road.

In the mid 1990’s Subash joined the Starwood group where he rose through the ranks, managing food and beverage departments of several large resorts in China, India and Japan. After overseeing the setup and launch of F&B at the Sheraton Haikou Resort in Hainan, China, Subash spent a year in Tokyo, managing F&B operations at several Hilton Hotels.

2008 saw Subash return to China, working at The Regent, Park Plaza and St Regis in Beijing, before returning to the Sheraton Haikou Resort as General Manager. Returning to Australia in 2014, he managed Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast before accepting the invitation to become General Manager at Spicers Peak Lodge.

With over two decades working in luxury hotels in Asia, Subash brings a wealth of experience to the Spicers Group. His knowledge of key markets will be a valuable asset to both Spicers Peak Lodge and the wider group.
