North Star Cruises Australia has entered its 30th year of operation and there is plenty to celebrate!
North Star Cruises’ Founding Director, Mr Craig Howson, has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for his services to tourism in Western Australia. Mr Howson explained that the focus at North Star had always been on giving guests greater opportunity to experience the destination. “We are very different to a big ship holiday. Our itineraries are always activity-based and much more suited to travellers who are looking for a holiday that is also a rewarding experience.” Congratulations Craig Howson, a well deserved accolade.
North Star is pleased to announce a new addition to the TRUE NORTH crew! Justin Rizzari recently commenced duty as a ship’s biologist and joins North Star stalwart Dr Andy Lewis and, Dr David Williamson, leading the ship’s interpretative team. Justin’s interest in the ocean started with a childhood passion for surfing and fishing. He studied reef shark behaviour at James Cook University. He is still active in research science and works on projects involving the effects of fishery protection on fish communities in the Philippines and the Great Barrier Reef as well as the trophic ecology of shark communities in South Australia.
Don’t miss out – there are just a handful of cabins remaining on this season’s Kimberley Wilderness Cruises. And, there are some great opportunities available to combine your TRUE NORTH adventure with the best time of the year to be in The Kimberley. The weather is currently perfect one day and better the next, all the national parks have opened, the Broome Race Round is in full swing and the other Kimberley race days are not far away. The humpback whales have arrived from down south, the billabongs are picture-perfect and the barra are starting to bite! Leave the winter behind and spend a couple of days on Cable Beach before joining the TRUE NORTH.
